New Film-Straightlaced April 23rd Oakland CA

Please mark your calendars now and join me at the Grand Lake Theater this Thursday, April 23rd, at 7PM for the East Bay Premiere of Straightlaced: How Gender’s Got Us All Tied Up. This is a fantastic new film from GroundSpark, documenting the many ways that gender identity and homophobia impacts high school youth. Among teens from across the country, the film features 10 MetWest graduates, filmed in the thick of their high school experiences.   Deborah Chasnoff and the folks at GroundSpark are graciously allowing us to host this showing of their latest documentary, and we plan to make it as much a party as a fundraiser. The “kids” in the film (who are currently college students), as well as the filmmakers, will be on hand to chat with us afterward. Admission will be a sliding scale of $10-20.   For more information on the film, go to: http://groundspark.org/our-films-and-campaigns/straightlaced or check out today’s SF Chronicle: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2009/04/20/DDJL172VK7.DTL&type=movies

Jennie McNulty and Queer On Their Feet 4/16/09 CA

Jennie McNulty and Queer On Their Feet are performing in the Bay Area for 3 shows! :-) Catch Queer On Their Feet - An Evening of Stand Up Comedy and Improv in Santa Cruz 4/16/09, Palo Alto on April 17, 2009, and in Berkeley on 4/19/09. The show is a hilarious night of comedy and improv whether you are straight, gay or undecided!

Don’t let the venues fool you! This is not a religious show, the churchs are generously providing the venue for the show.

Queer On Their Feet features Jennie McNulty, Daniel Leary, and Diana Yanez. Queer On Their Feet is a refreshing and hilarious show that has each comic doing about 15 minutes of fabulous stand up and then that is followed by the 3 together onstage playing improv games with suggestions from the audience. Every show is unique, fun, and totally hysterical.

Queer Female Couples Wanted For Short Experimental Film

April 2009 Queer Girl Theatre Project
Queer Performance Artists - Actors - Spoken Word Poets Wanted For Short Experimental Film

“We Women Fuck”
Short Experimental Film

We are looking for queer woman to be a part of a short film which we hope to air at festivals through out the country.

We need:
- Queer Performance Artists
- Actors
- Spoken Word Poets.

“We Woman Fuck” is a humorous and poetic exploration of the way women “do it” with each other. This film uses both visual and verbal images in order to create for its the unique experience that women share physically, emotionally and spiritually when they take their clothes off and take each other in. The soul-felt words of writer/performer Sage (Jamie Cotton) combined with the profound vision of director Jennifer Jigour is sure to make this experimental short film an uncommon delight.

Performers will be asked to perform a short (2-5 min) prepared piece. In addition, we will ask you to read cold reading of, “The Fuck Poem.”  If interested please respond to this add by telling us a little about your self and why you’d like to be in our movie and be sure to leave a phone number. We will be in touch shortly in order to set up an interview time/location.

If you are interested in auditioning and are living in San Francisco-Bay Area, CA you can reach us at wwf@jenniferjigour.com

Sincerely,
Jennifer Jigour and Sage

Screwup:BDSM for trans, genderqueers and friends April 11, 2009 SF CA

queerlykinked:

screwup: BDSM for trans people, genderqueers and their friends, presents…

April’s screwup: Self Discipline and Remote Control: Solo and Remote Play

New Day and Time! Saturday, April 11, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Femina Potens, 2199 Market Street (at Sanchez Street), San Francisco

Whether you are too busy to meet in person, thousands of miles apart, or prefer to avoid the risks of in person play, remote play is a great way to create or maintain a hot connection. Solo play is a great way to practice techniques in a low pressure situation, learn your own responses, and show yourself a good time. They can be substitutes for playing with a lover you can touch, a safer sex alternative a, chance to try an edgy fantasy, or just another way to enjoy yourself. Playing alone and playing across distance both require imagination, attention to detail, and safety precautions that are different than an in person playdate. We’ll discuss and in some cases demonstrate:

-Preparation and negotiation -Safety concerns -Ideas for enhancing connection -Realtime long distance play: Phone sex, IM, text messages, -Dirty long distance gifts: Email, letters, postcards, photos, video, packages -Topping or dominating yourself -And more!

B/T (aka Bequi) has been topping themselves for over 8 years and practicing remote play regularly for the last year. They have played privately for most of their sexual life and worked as a BDSM professional for 5 years. B/T has taught/facilitated screwup programs on disability and kink, rope bondage, and gender role play.

Screwup is for trans people, genderqueers, and our friends. This event is open to all genders and will be held at Femina Potens . Folks sometimes go out for coffee or food afterwards, so come prepared…

$0-5 donation will be accepted to cover the cost of space and supplies. No one turned away. Femina Potens’s space is wheelchair accessible but the bathrooms are not.

Spread the word by forwarding this post.

Please contact screwup@screwup.info if you’d like us to arrange for an ASL interpreter, to get involved, make suggestions or with any other requests.
